Send your first email
Compose a message and understand how Enbox Mail encryption works.
Composing a message
- Click New message (or press
N) - Add recipients, a subject and your message
- Click Send
Encryption between Enbox users
Mail sent between two Enbox accounts is end-to-end encrypted automatically. No action required — the lock icon in the compose window shows when a message will be encrypted.
Sending to external addresses
Email to non-enbox addresses is sent via standard SMTP and is not end-to-end encrypted (the same as Gmail or Outlook). You can optionally add a password-protected link instead:
- In compose, click Secure send
- Set a password and expiry
- The recipient receives a link rather than the message directly
| Recipient | Encrypted |
|---|---|
| Enbox user | Yes — E2E |
| External (SMTP) | Transport only |
| Secure link | Yes — password protected |
