Send your first email

Compose a message and understand how Enbox Mail encryption works.

Composing a message

  1. Click New message (or press N)
  2. Add recipients, a subject and your message
  3. Click Send

Encryption between Enbox users

Mail sent between two Enbox accounts is end-to-end encrypted automatically. No action required — the lock icon in the compose window shows when a message will be encrypted.

Sending to external addresses

Email to non-enbox addresses is sent via standard SMTP and is not end-to-end encrypted (the same as Gmail or Outlook). You can optionally add a password-protected link instead:

  1. In compose, click Secure send
  2. Set a password and expiry
  3. The recipient receives a link rather than the message directly
